 A concept that captures the imagination doesn’t let go after one visualization. It’s deeper than painting the same theme more than once, it is exploring the expanded possibilities of an idea. The catharsis of a vision often requires multiple images. The first may be a spontaneous expression. The next can be the considered pursuit of more effectively applied technique. The next comes from new insight, born of spending time with the archetype, or the need to explore another aspect of it. Switching medium, and starting a second series might be the next logical (or emotional) step. Can I say it better in watercolor, oil, or pen? It is the upside to obsessions- productivity! |
